TIME OUT FOR RHYTHM

Cinemavixion Review

Sidney Salkow's "Time Out for Rhythm" offers a charming glimpse into Hollywood's musical comedies of the early 1940s. The narrative follows Kitty Brown, a maid who unexpectedly finds herself on the path to stardom after her employer's fiancé intervenes in her nightclub career. While the plot provides a light framework, the film truly shines through its musical numbers and the effervescent performances of its cast, including Rudy Vallee, Ann Miller, and Rosemary Lane. The movie captures a sense of optimistic escapism, characteristic of its era, and delivers enjoyable song-and-dance routines. Its enduring appeal lies in its straightforward storytelling and the vibrant energy that makes it a pleasant watch for fans of classic musicals and nostalgic cinema.
