THIS IS HOW SADDAM HUSSEIN TRIED TO CONQUER HOLLYWOOD

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into a fascinating and bizarre footnote of cinematic history: Saddam Hussein's ambitious, albeit disastrous, attempt to bankroll a lavish historical epic about Iraq in the 1980s. With a budget reportedly rivaling that of 'Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,' this vanity project aimed to shape the narrative of Iraq's founding, even enlisting the talents of actor Oliver Reed. The film offers a transfixing look at the colossal scale of this undertaking, highlighting how political ambition and artistic endeavor intersected in a truly unique and ultimately ill-fated endeavor.
