THIN ICE

Cinemavixion Review

Marina's seemingly idyllic life is dramatically upended with the sudden death of her husband, Egor, under the wheels of a train. What initially appears to be a tragic accident quickly spirals into a complex web of deceit as Marina discovers Egor's hidden debts and the existence of a second family, including a son. The narrative plunges into a gripping mystery as Marina confronts Lika, Egor's other wife, who is fiercely protective of her child's financial future. This confrontation, however, is only one layer of the unfolding drama. As Marina delves deeper into the circumstances surrounding Egor's death, she finds an unexpected ally in Matvey, her first love, who stands ready to help her unravel the tangled secrets. The film skillfully explores themes of betrayal, resilience, and the complexities of truth, posing compelling questions about trust, reconciliation, and the lengths one will go to for family and justice.
