THEY CALL ME TRINITY

Cinemavixion Review

Enzo Barboni's "Lo chiamavano Trinità..." (known internationally as "They Call Me Trinity") is a foundational work of the Spaghetti Western comedy subgenre, masterfully blending slapstick humor with the iconic tropes of the West. Released in 1970, this film cemented the legendary on-screen partnership of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer, whose charismatic chemistry and physical comedy are the undeniable heart of the picture. They portray two charmingly lazy drifters who stumble into a conflict between a community of Mormon settlers and a ruthless land baron. The film's distinctive style, characterized by its vibrant cinematography and memorable score, offers a lighthearted yet engaging narrative. It's a joyous romp that playfully subverts Western conventions, proving that even in the dusty frontier, there's always room for laughter and unlikely heroes.
