THE WRONG ONE

Cinemavixion Review

Kamal Smith's "The Wrong One" delves into the treacherous waters of modern romance with a narrative that begins as a seemingly lighthearted exploration of a woman's dating choices. The film centers on a self-assured single woman who finds herself entangled with two best friends, a premise ripe for comedic and dramatic tension. As the situation escalates from playful dalliance to genuine chaos, the story unfolds to reveal unexpected lessons about consequences and self-perception. Smith, who also directs and stars, crafts a compelling character study, supported by a cast including Nakia McCarty and Vida Michelle, that examines the complexities of relationships when personal desires collide with the realities of emotional entanglements. The film navigates its themes with a blend of humor and introspection, offering a cautionary tale wrapped in the guise of a romantic entanglement.
