THE WRONG BABYSITTER

Cinemavixion Review

George Mendeluk's "The Wrong Babysitter" (2017) is a tense thriller that plays on parental fears, weaving a narrative of suspense around a single mother, Susan, and her teenage daughter, Christy. When Susan must travel for work, the unsettling disappearance of Christy, coupled with suspicions surrounding the death of her husband a year prior, plunges the film into a spiral of mystery. The presence of Daphne Zuniga and Seann Gallagher in the cast adds a layer of familiarity, grounding the increasingly fraught situation. While the film garnered a modest IMDb rating of 3.8, its strength lies in its exploration of a mother's desperate search for her child, touching upon themes of trust, past trauma, and the lengths one will go to protect their family. It's a serviceable entry in the thriller genre, likely to keep audiences engaged with its escalating stakes and domestic unease.
