THE WORLD'S MOST DANGEROUS BABY DELIVERIES: A MIDWIFE'S JOURNEY INTO THE UNCHARTED

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a profound glimpse into the critical role of traditional midwives in the remote jungles of northwest Colombia. We follow the inspiring journey of Keyla, a young woman embarking on her first solo examination under the tutelage of Pacha, a respected elder skilled in ancestral plant-based remedies. Their work, alongside the advocacy of nurse Manuela for the recognition of midwives' vital services, highlights the immense challenges faced in regions lacking basic medical infrastructure. The film powerfully portrays the resilience of these women, their commitment to maternal health amidst treacherous terrain and political instability, and the enduring strength found in community and intergenerational knowledge. It is a compelling narrative of courage, tradition, and the unwavering spirit of women supporting women in their most vulnerable moments.
