THE WEST WITTERING AFFAIR

Cinemavixion Review

David Scheinmann's 2006 romantic comedy, 'The West Wittering Affair,' offers a sharp, albeit somewhat dated, exploration of modern relationships and the tangled webs they weave. The film centers on Jamie, whose weekend getaway with friends Kathy and Natasha takes an unexpectedly complicated turn when he finds himself romantically involved with both women. The situation escalates when Jamie seeks therapy and discovers his therapist is intimately connected to Natasha. While the premise promises a frothy sex-comedy, the film delves into the anxieties and confusions of commitment among thirty-something London professionals. Despite a modest reception and a 4.2 rating on IMDb, the film's honest portrayal of romantic entanglements and its British wit make it a noteworthy, if flawed, entry for those intrigued by the complexities of love and fidelity.
