THE VIRUS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

Cinemavixion Review

"The Virus Is Only the Beginning" plunges viewers into a terrifyingly plausible scenario where a deadly virus, PVH13, strips humanity of its ability to lie, a precursor to its fatal conclusion. The narrative follows a group of college students who stumble into the heart of the quarantine: a forgotten hospital holding the virus. While the premise is ripe with potential for suspense and ethical quandaries, the film's execution relies on a familiar outbreak trope. The core concept—an incurable virus that eradicates deception before claiming lives—offers a unique twist on the pandemic genre, exploring the societal breakdown that might occur when truth becomes an involuntary, and ultimately lethal, condition. The students' accidental breach into the quarantined zone sets the stage for a desperate fight for survival against both the pathogen and the secrets it unearths.
