THE VICTORIAN INNOVATION THAT SAVED AUSTRALIA

Cinemavixion Review

Alice Springs, often perceived as a mere outpost, emerges in this documentary as a surprisingly rich nexus of historical significance. The narrative skillfully unfolds the town's pivotal role in establishing early mass communication networks across Australia's arid interior. Furthermore, it highlights its crucial function as a strategic transport hub during critical periods of national defense, even serving as a component in a Cold War-era nuclear early-warning system. The exploration extends beyond human endeavors to encompass the breathtaking natural beauty of Central Australia, culminating at a spectacular landmark. This film offers a compelling perspective on how innovation and geography converged to shape the destiny of a continent.
