Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the compelling narrative of John F. Kennedy, charting his ascent from a scion of the influential Kennedy dynasty to the 35th President of the United States. The film meticulously reconstructs the 'making of a president,' exploring pivotal moments in his life: his formative travels through Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, his harrowing experiences in World War II including a remarkable survival swim to a tropical island, and the numerous, often concealed, health battles he faced. Beyond the public persona, the documentary examines his glamorous marriage to Jacqueline Kennedy and his ambitious journey through the Senate to the ultimate prize of the White House. By focusing on the man behind the myth, especially in the centenary of his birth, the film offers a nuanced perspective, moving beyond the tragic shadow cast by his assassination to reveal the multifaceted individual who became an American legend.
