This documentary plunges viewers into the harrowing realities of World War I, moving beyond the grand narratives of battles to focus on the deeply personal experiences of those who endured its brutality. Through the voices of veterans, we confront the devastating physical and psychological scars left by the conflict. The film commendably highlights the extraordinary bravery of stretcher bearers and nurses, whose tireless efforts provided glimmers of hope amidst the carnage. It masterfully portrays the critical moments of rescue, the makeshift nature of battlefield medicine, and the enduring emotional toll that extended far beyond the cessation of hostilities. A poignant testament to human resilience in the face of unimaginable suffering.
