THE TIGER KING: INSIDE JOE EXOTIC'S SANCTUARY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the often-unsettling world of exotic pet ownership, posing a vital question: where is the line between a passionate hobbyist and a reckless endangerer? Through intimate portraits of individuals who choose creatures like alligators, zebras, and tigers as companions, 'The Tiger King: Inside Joe Exotic's Sanctuary' investigates the complex motivations behind such choices. The film compellingly explores the allure of the unconventional, showcasing the deep bonds formed between owners and their formidable animals. However, it doesn't shy away from the inherent risks and ethical quandaries. It prompts viewers to consider the welfare of both the animals and the people involved, offering a thought-provoking glimpse into a subculture that challenges our very definition of 'pet'.
