THE THREE AGES

Cinemavixion Review

This silent comedy classic, 'The Three Ages,' offers a delightful glimpse into the early days of cinema, showcasing the unique talents of Buster Keaton. The film cleverly structures its narrative across three distinct historical periods, allowing Keaton to explore timeless themes of love and courtship through his signature physical comedy and deadpan delivery. Each segment is a masterclass in visual storytelling, relying on ingenious gags and Keaton's remarkable stunt work to elicit laughter. While lacking the refined polish of later cinematic achievements, its charm and innovation remain undeniable, making it a foundational piece for understanding the evolution of screen comedy and a testament to Keaton's enduring comedic genius.
