THE SWERVE

Cinemavixion Review

Dean Kapsalis's 'The Swerve' is a masterclass in psychological tension, presenting a chilling portrait of a woman's unraveling sanity. Anchored by a profoundly unsettling performance, the film plunges viewers into the fractured psyche of Holly, a suburbanite whose meticulously constructed life begins to crumble under the weight of anxiety and trauma. The narrative expertly blurs the lines between reality and hallucination, creating a palpable sense of dread that lingers long after the credits roll. With a critical reception highlighted by a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, 'The Swerve' stands as a haunting exploration of mental illness and the devastating consequences of suppressed struggles. It's a film that demands attention, rewarding audiences with its raw emotional honesty and gripping descent into darkness.
