THE SURPRISINGLY COLOURFUL WORLD OF MEDIEVAL INTERIOR DESIGN

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary takes viewers on an unexpected journey into the vibrant aesthetic of medieval interiors, challenging the common perception of these historical spaces as merely austere stone structures. Narrated by Ruth, Peter, and Tom, the film peels back the layers of time and decay to reveal the lavish decoration that once adorned these castles. It masterfully illustrates how centuries of neglect have obscured the original opulence, from intricate carpentry to richly finished interiors and soaring roofs. The narrative encourages a re-evaluation of our historical appreciation, urging a deeper look beyond the weathered facades to envision the colourful and dynamic environments these castles once were. A fascinating exploration for anyone interested in history and design.
