In "The Story of Love," Ruby, a budding romance novelist, embarks on a journey to a writers' retreat in Tahoe, hosted by her idol, the renowned author Marcus Harlow. Her goal is to secure a coveted book deal. However, her path takes an unexpected turn when Woody, the proprietor of the hotel and an avid outdoorsman, introduces her to the wonders of the natural world. This encounter prompts Ruby to question her literary aspirations and whether she's been pursuing the right kind of stories, perhaps ones written more for external validation than genuine passion. The film explores themes of self-discovery and the conflict between ambition and authentic personal fulfillment, set against the scenic backdrop of Lake Tahoe.
