THE SINISTER (AKA LO SINIESTRO)

Cinemavixion Review

Clara's return to her hometown, amidst a marital crisis, unravels a chilling tapestry of her past in Sergio Mazurek's 'The Sinister (aka Lo Siniestro)'. The film masterfully blends psychological suspense with supernatural dread as Clara finds herself ensnared in a mystery plaguing the town and its inhabitants, including her own grandparents. The narrative pivots on her desperate search for answers, with a local police officer emerging as a potential, albeit uncertain, ally. Mazurek crafts an atmosphere thick with unease, drawing viewers into Clara's descent into a terrifying reality. Paula Siero delivers a compelling performance, anchoring the film with her portrayal of a woman confronting deeply buried horrors. 'The Sinister' is an unsettling exploration of ancestral secrets and the inescapable nature of one's origins.
