THE SILVER BULLET

Cinemavixion Review

Bernard B. Ray's 1935 Western, "The Silver Bullet," offers a quintessential tale of justice and deception in the Old West. Starring the stoic Tom Tyler as Sheriff Tom Henderson, the film meticulously crafts a narrative of a town plagued by a notorious gang, only for the true mastermind to be hidden in plain sight. The plot unfolds with a satisfying blend of classic Western tropes: the upright lawman, the corrupt official, and the pursuit of vengeance. Tyler embodies the sheriff with quiet determination, while Lafe McKee's portrayal of the blinded Dad Kane adds a poignant layer of personal stakes to the unfolding drama. Despite its modest runtime, "The Silver Bullet" delivers a compelling story, enriched by the atmospheric direction and a cast that fully commits to the genre's conventions. It's a solid entry for fans of traditional Western storytelling.
