Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the harrowing and extraordinary life of Kenneth "Krazy Kenny" Sternberg, a man whose resilience is as remarkable as the crimes that led him to federal prison. Convicted in 2000 for robbery, conspiracy, and firearm charges, Sternberg faced a daunting sentence of over 80 years, spending 21 years in maximum security. The film unflinchingly chronicles his survival through violent encounters, including surviving multiple gunshot wounds and a stabbing, painting a stark picture of the brutal realities within the penal system. "Touched By Darkness" offers a unique perspective, detailing Sternberg's journey from being the sole Jewish member of the Latin Kings to navigating the treacherous landscape of prison life. Through his own candid narration, infused with a blend of dark humor and brutal honesty, Sternberg recounts his path of crime, his tenacious fight for survival, and his eventual, unexpected road to freedom. This is a compelling look at a life defined by defiance and an indomitable will to endure.
