THE SCREEN GUILD THEATER: THE MALTESE FALCON

Cinemavixion Review

This entry presents a radio adaptation of "The Maltese Falcon" from The Screen Guild Theater, originally broadcast on September 20, 1943. Hosted by Carl Amari and featuring the iconic narration of Humphrey Bogart, this particular episode revisits a classic tale. The Screen Guild Theater was renowned for its unique format, where Hollywood's biggest stars performed adaptations of popular films, with proceeds benefiting the Motion Picture Relief Fund. While the description provides context for the show's history and philanthropic mission, it does not offer a critical review of this specific radio performance. The focus remains on the historical and contextual significance of the broadcast rather than a critical analysis of the adaptation itself.
