Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the tumultuous history of St. Kilda, a Melbourne suburb that has experienced dramatic transformations. Once a tranquil escape for 19th-century city dwellers, it later became synonymous with a burgeoning heroin subculture. The narrative highlights its period as the "Rock Capital of The World" in the 1980s, a testament to its vibrant, albeit fleeting, cultural zenith. The film traces St. Kilda's cyclical journey through periods of decay and revival, ultimately exploring its present-day status as a sought-after locale. It offers a compelling look at urban evolution, societal change, and the enduring spirit of a community defined by its resilience.
