THE RIVERBANK

Cinemavixion Review

John L'Ecuyer's 'The Riverbank' unfolds as a compelling psychological thriller, anchored by a captivating performance from its lead. The film masterfully weaves a narrative of inherited trauma and buried truths, as an anthropologist, Kate Mason, confronts the unsettling legacy of her family. The investigation into her mother's disappearance, spanning three decades, becomes a descent into a labyrinth of secrets, expertly portrayed by the ensemble cast including Rick Roberts, Kenneth Welsh, and Kari Matchett. While the external data suggests a runtime of 76 minutes and an IMDb rating of 5.2, the true strength of 'The Riverbank' lies in its atmospheric tension and its exploration of how the past relentlessly shapes the present. It is a thought-provoking piece that rewards patient viewers with a deeply resonant mystery.
