THE RISE OF PIRACY IN SOUTH EAST ASIA

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges viewers into the perilous waters of South East Asia, revealing the brutal reality of modern piracy. It masterfully exposes a dangerous criminal underworld where massive tankers become targets, and the lives of crews hang precariously in the balance, often escalating into dire hostage situations. The series commendably ventures beyond the immediate threat of piracy to showcase a broader spectrum of Asian criminality, from Filipino assassins to Mongolian pimps and Taiwanese gambling syndicates. This eight-part exposé offers a hard-hitting, unflinching look at the complex and ruthless face of crime in the region, providing a compelling and essential perspective on contemporary global security issues.
