THE RISE AND FALL OF PERU’S COCAINE TRADE | CRISIS IN COCAINE VALLEY | FULL DOCUMENTARY

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges viewers into the heart of Peru's "Cocaine Valley," a region once synonymous with global cocaine production. The film starkly portrays the devastating impact of the pandemic and intensified police efforts on the illicit drug trade. We witness the struggles of farmers, traffickers, and smugglers as they confront plummeting prices and abandoned operations, painting a grim picture of survival in a collapsing black market. The narrative extends from the remote, hidden coca cultivation sites deep within the jungle to sophisticated customs operations in distant ports like Rotterdam. "The Rise and Fall of Peru’s Cocaine Trade" offers a compelling, albeit sobering, look at the human consequences of this clandestine economy and the precarious future facing a community intrinsically linked to the coca leaf.
