THE REAL LIFE COUNTESS DRACULA | LADYKILLERS | REAL CRIME

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the chilling legend of Countess Báthory, a figure shrouded in darkness and whispered accusations from 16th-century Hungary. Born in 1560, the narrative paints a grim picture of her alleged crimes, suggesting she, alongside accomplices, lured young girls to her castle under false pretenses, subjecting them to horrific torture and murder. The program posits her as potentially the most prolific female serial killer in history, with an estimated 600 victims. It also touches upon the enduring myth of her bathing in blood to retain youth, a tale famously immortalized in the horror film 'Countess Dracula,' starring Ingrid Pitt, who also appears as a commentator here. The presentation aims to separate historical fact from sensationalized folklore surrounding this notorious countess.
