Cinemavixion Review

This twinkly inspirational documentary plunges into the vibrant world of the World Over-80 Table Tennis Championships held in Inner Mongolia. It shines a spotlight on eight remarkable competitors, all in their 80s and 90s, with one Australian woman proudly standing at the centenarian mark. Across these athletes, a staggering 703 years of life experience converge on the ping-pong table. Among the compelling stories is Terry, 81, who, after being given mere weeks to live, finds himself on the cusp of achieving gold. Inge, 89, has found a powerful pathway out of a dementia ward through the discipline and focus of table tennis. The legendary Australian player Dorothy deLow, a centenarian, has become a bona fide celebrity in this niche yet passionate community. Adding to the mix is the determined Texan Lisa Modlich, a newcomer at 85, who is set on doing whatever it takes to secure her first gold medal. More than just a sports film, 'The Pro Grandparents Of Ping Pong' serves as a profound testament to the tenacity of the human spirit, offering a moving meditation on mortality and the enduring pursuit of passion at any age.
