THE 'PREPPERS' GEARING UP FOR THE END OF THE WORLD

Cinemavixion Review

Stacey Dooley's documentary, 'The 'Preppers' Gearing Up For The End Of The World,' offers a fascinating, if unsettling, glimpse into a subculture driven by a profound sense of impending crisis. Dooley travels across America, encountering individuals who are meticulously preparing for a spectrum of potential apocalypses, ranging from the environmental and natural to the socio-political. The film delves into the motivations behind these preparations, showcasing a diverse array of concerns and the often elaborate measures taken to mitigate perceived threats. It raises pertinent questions about societal anxieties, resource scarcity, and the human instinct for survival in an increasingly unpredictable world. The documentary effectively humanizes its subjects, moving beyond sensationalism to explore the complex psychological and philosophical underpinnings of the prepping movement.
