THE PHILIPPINES' DANGEROUS DANCING INMATES

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a compelling glimpse into the transformative power of routine and discipline within the confines of the Cebu prison. The premise itself is striking: confronting the label of 'dangerous offenders' with the structured release of daily dance lessons. The narrative explores how this unique program, involving four hours of daily practice, has visibly altered the behavior of the inmates. While the film delves into the challenging environment of the Philippines' correctional facilities, it focuses primarily on the human element, showcasing resilience and the unexpected avenues for personal growth that can emerge even in the most restrictive settings. It's a testament to how structured creative expression can foster rehabilitation and a sense of community.
