THE ONLY THRILL

Cinemavixion Review

Peter Masterson's "The Only Thrill" offers a poignant exploration of love blossoming against a backdrop of contrasting lives and past adversities. Anchored by strong performances from Sam Shepard as the pragmatic Reece McHenry and Diane Keaton as the resilient Carol Fitzsimmons, the film delicately navigates the complexities of their relationship. The narrative, spanning from the 1960s to the present, not only focuses on the central couple but also weaves in the romantic entanglements of their children, adding layers to the themes of enduring connection and personal growth. Despite its modest box office reception, the film's intimate portrayal of human relationships and its exploration of redemption through love make it a compelling watch for those who appreciate character-driven dramas.
