THE OLD FLAME

Cinemavixion Review

"The Old Flame" plunges viewers into the gritty underbelly of crime through the eyes of two young detectives, Ivan Korotchenko and Ilya Karelin. Their partnership, forged in the crucible of shared danger and camaraderie, is shattered by Ivan's brutal murder. The narrative pivots as Ilya inherits not only his friend's caseload but also his loyal dog, Tyson, a poignant symbol of the life abruptly ended. Haunted by loss, Ilya’s pursuit of justice morphs into an all-consuming obsession. His new partner, Marina, initially advocates for professional detachment, but the lines blur as Ilya uncovers a sinister truth: the architect of Ivan's demise is Rymar, a charismatic restaurateur and Marina's lover, who secretly orchestrates a vast criminal enterprise. This film explores themes of loyalty, vengeance, and the corrupting influence of power, set against a backdrop of escalating tension and moral ambiguity.
