THE NEST

Cinemavixion Review

James Suttles' 'The Nest' offers a chilling descent into maternal paranoia, expertly blurring the lines between psychological distress and supernatural horror. Sarah Navratil delivers a powerhouse performance as Beth, a mother battling past demons while suspecting a sinister influence on her daughter. The film masterfully weaves a narrative of escalating dread, amplified by the unsettling performances of Maple Suttles and a returning Dee Wallace. While the IMDb rating suggests a divisive reception, the film's commitment to its disturbing themes and its exploration of addiction, sacrifice, and the terrifying bonds of motherhood are undeniable. It's a potent, albeit unsettling, cinematic experience that lingers long after the credits roll, prompting reflection on the extreme measures one might take when confronted with perceived threats to their family.
