THE MITFORDS: COMMUNISM VS FASCISM IN THE ENGLISH ARISTOCRACY

Cinemavixion Review

This compelling documentary delves into the stark ideological chasm that separated two sisters from the English aristocracy, Jessica and Diana Mitford. Against the backdrop of a Europe teetering on the brink of seismic political change in the early 20th century, the film masterfully illustrates how divergent beliefs—Communism versus Fascism—could fracture even the most profound familial bonds. The narrative highlights their fierce competitiveness and distinct quests for identity, showcasing how personal and political lives became inextricably intertwined, ultimately leading to the shattering of sisterhood. It's a poignant exploration of how deeply held convictions, set against a backdrop of intense global tension, can redefine personal relationships and forge separate paths in history.
