THE MILKY WAY

Cinemavixion Review

Harold Lloyd shines in "The Milky Way," a delightful comedy from director Leo McCarey. This film, lauded by Time magazine as "uproariously funny," showcases Lloyd as Burleigh Sullivan, a seemingly timid milkman whose accidental rise in the prizefighting world is orchestrated by a clever manager. The narrative expertly blends physical comedy with a sharp, satirical edge, a hallmark of McCarey's celebrated directorial career. Supporting performances, particularly from Adolphe Menjou and Lionel Stander, add significant depth and humor to the proceedings. "The Milky Way" stands as a testament to Lloyd's enduring comedic talent and McCarey's masterful command of the genre, offering a thoroughly entertaining viewing experience that remains remarkably fresh.
