THE MIDNIGHT MAN

Cinemavixion Review

This 2017 thriller plunges viewers into the claustrophobic tension of a remote cabin, where a couple's attempt to mend their fractured marriage is brutally interrupted by an external threat. The narrative skillfully builds suspense, transforming a domestic retreat into a desperate fight for survival. While the premise leans into familiar horror tropes, the execution offers a chilling exploration of escalating fear and the primal instinct to protect oneself. The performances effectively convey the characters' unraveling psychological states as their personal issues are overshadowed by a far more immediate and violent danger. It's a stark reminder that sometimes the greatest monsters are not just within relationships, but also lurking just outside the door.
