THE MEEKSVILLE GHOST

Cinemavixion Review

David Lister's "The Meeksville Ghost" offers a spectral Western with a touch of the supernatural, centering on the posthumous plight of sharpshooter Lucius Meeks. Trapped between worlds, Meeks, portrayed with a fitting spectral weariness, enlists the aid of Danny Logan to resolve a lingering injustice. The film adeptly blends the stoic atmosphere of the West with a poignant exploration of unfinished business and the quest for peace. Judge Reinhold's presence adds a grounded, albeit ghostly, anchor to the narrative, while the supporting cast navigates the emotional currents of redemption and closure. Though perhaps not a high-octane shoot-'em-up, the film's strength lies in its thoughtful pacing and its focus on the spiritual ramifications of earthly deeds, making it a unique entry in the supernatural Western subgenre.
