THE MAN NEXT DOOR

Cinemavixion Review

Danny Lerner's 'The Man Next Door' presents a grim narrative centered on Galia, portrayed with steely resolve by Olga Kurylenko. Thrust into the brutal world of the Russian mafia, Galia's existence is one of forced violence. The film delves into the desperate measures one might take when trapped, as Galia becomes entangled in a dangerous plan to aid her neighbor in escaping an abusive marriage. While the premise hints at a dark exploration of survival and complicity, the film's execution navigates a tense, often unsettling path. Kurylenko's performance anchors the story, conveying the weight of Galia's circumstances. The supporting cast, including Ninet Tayeb and Zohar Strauss, contribute to the film's palpable atmosphere of danger and moral ambiguity.
