THE MALEVOLENT QUEEN

Cinemavixion Review

Franziska Pohlmann's "The Malevolent Queen" plunges viewers into the oppressive kingdom of Arkus, where the titular monarch's tyranny is marked by the annual "Yearly Gifts Day." This fantastical narrative centers on two resourceful street kids, Jono and Saraja, who become unlikely heroes. Armed with a clandestine clue passed down from a former rival, they embark on a perilous quest to dismantle the Queen's iron grip. The film explores themes of courage, wit, and the struggle against injustice, posing the question of whether the bravery of ordinary individuals can truly triumph over entrenched power. Pohlmann crafts a visually engaging adventure, bolstered by the performances of Lukas Jantzen, Marit Persiel, and Anna-Lena Sender, who bring depth to the inhabitants of this beleaguered realm.
