THE MAGIC SWORD

Cinemavixion Review

Bert I. Gordon's "The Magic Sword" transports viewers to a realm of classic fantasy, where the line between myth and reality blurs. The narrative follows a determined young hero, the son of a sorceress, who musters his courage and magical aid—including six summoned knights—to rescue a princess from a wicked wizard's clutches. Gary Lockwood, in an early role, embodies the youthful valor required for such a perilous quest, supported by the gravitas of Basil Rathbone and the seasoned presence of Estelle Winwood. While the film embraces its B-movie roots with a charmingly earnest approach to its fantastical elements, its true strength lies in its imaginative premise and the enduring appeal of its chivalric adventure. It's a delightful journey for those who appreciate a straightforward, magical tale of good versus evil.
