THE MAD

Cinemavixion Review

John Kalangis's 'The Mad' plunges viewers into a visceral survival horror scenario, transforming a seemingly mundane road trip into a nightmarish fight for existence. The film masterfully escalates tension as a father and daughter find themselves besieged by zombies at a remote diner. What begins as a desperate attempt to escape a localized outbreak quickly evolves into an all-out war against the undead, where every corner turned presents a new threat. Kalangis crafts a relentless atmosphere, punctuated by pulse-pounding action sequences that underscore the grim reality of the characters' predicament. With strong performances from Billy Zane and Maggie Castle, 'The Mad' is a taut, engaging thriller that explores the raw instinct for survival when civilization crumbles and the only currency is life itself. It's a chilling reminder that sometimes, the most ordinary places can become the most terrifying battlegrounds.
