Bruno Corbucci's "The Longest Hunt" (1968) is a serviceable Western that, while perhaps not reaching the epic heights its title might suggest, offers a compelling narrative rooted in classic genre tropes. The film centers on Chad Stark, a fugitive offered a reprieve from the gallows by a Mexican landowner, Gutierrez, on the condition he retrieves Gutierrez's runaway son, Fidel.
