THE LONG NIGHTS OF FRANCISCO SANCTIS

Cinemavixion Review

In the oppressive atmosphere of Buenos Aires, 1977, "The Long Nights Of Francisco Sanctis" plunges us into the heart of a nation under military dictatorship. The film centers on Francisco Sanctis, a seemingly apolitical family man whose quiet existence is shattered when he becomes the custodian of information concerning two individuals slated to "disappear." The narrative masterfully builds tension as Francisco grapples with an immediate and profound moral dilemma: to remain a passive observer or to risk everything, including his own life, in a desperate bid to save strangers. This quiet thriller, driven by Velázquez, Paredes, and Lois, explores the immense courage that can emerge from ordinary individuals when faced with extraordinary injustice, questioning the true cost of conscience in a world demanding silence.
