THE LEASE

Cinemavixion Review

Paolo Bertola's 2018 thriller, "The Lease," offers a chilling descent into the unknown when the Gonzales family seeks refuge in a seemingly idyllic Philippine villa. Starring Garie Concepcion, Ruben Maria Soriquez, and Edmund Dreu Santiago, the film masterfully builds suspense as Romano Gonzales (Concepcion) finds himself plagued by increasingly disturbing nightmares. These are not mere figments of a troubled mind, but echoes of a deeper mystery entwined with the very foundations of their new home. As Romano delves into the villa's secrets, the narrative unravels a tale of psychological horror, questioning the line between reality and the supernatural. Despite a modest IMDb rating of 4.1/10 and three nominations, "The Lease" is a compelling watch for fans of atmospheric horror, promising a disquieting exploration of hidden truths and the price of uncovering them.
