THE LAST RESCUE

Cinemavixion Review

Eric Colley's 'The Last Rescue' plunges viewers into the harrowing aftermath of D-Day, presenting a tense narrative of survival and ingenuity. The film skillfully captures the precariousness of being stranded behind enemy lines, a scenario that tests the mettle of three American soldiers and two Army Corps nurses. Their capture of a high-ranking German officer transforms their desperate situation into a high-stakes escape plan. While the film may not boast widespread critical acclaim, its straightforward approach to a gripping premise, bolstered by the performances of actors like Brett Cullen and Cody Kasch, offers a compelling war drama. The intimate focus on the characters' immediate struggle for survival makes for an engaging, albeit familiar, cinematic experience that underscores the human element amidst the chaos of conflict.
