THE LAST GRIZZLY BEAR? INSIDE A MAN'S FIGHT TO SAVE A SPECIES

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary chronicles Marty Stouffer's extraordinary commitment to saving what he believes to be the last grizzly bear in Colorado. Abandoning his former life, Stouffer immerses himself in the remote mountains to document and protect this solitary creature. His ambitious plan involves raising an orphaned cub, Grizz, with the hope of reintroducing the species. The narrative highlights the profound bond between man and animal, as Stouffer teaches Grizz the essential survival skills for the wild. However, the film poignantly reveals that the most significant danger to Grizz's survival is not the natural environment but humanity itself. Faced with this harsh reality, Stouffer makes the heart-wrenching decision to foster a fear of humans in Grizz, a desperate measure to ensure her long-term survival. The story culminates in Stouffer's return to the mountains a year later, filled with uncertainty and hope for Grizz's continued existence and the success of his conservation efforts.
