THE LAST DAYS OF BILLY THE KID

Cinemavixion Review

Christopher Forbes' "The Last Days of Billy the Kid" plunges viewers into the twilight of a legend, offering a stark and often brutal portrayal of the iconic outlaw's final moments. Released in 2017, this Western drama eschews romanticized notions of the West, instead presenting a grim landscape where survival is a daily battle. The narrative focuses on Billy the Kid's desperate attempts to evade the relentless pursuit of lawmen and bounty hunters, a chase amplified by the paranoia and fury that defined his existence. While the film may not boast the polish of major studio productions, its raw energy and commitment to depicting the harsh realities of the era are palpable. Cody McCarver's performance as the titular character grounds the film, capturing the weariness and desperation of a man cornered by his own myth. "The Last Days of Billy the Kid" serves as a somber reminder of the violent end to a tumultuous life, inviting audiences to contemplate the cost of notoriety in a lawless land.
