THE LANDING

Cinemavixion Review

David and Mark Dodson's 2017 docudrama, "The Landing," offers a chilling retrospective on the ill-fated Apollo 18 mission, the final American journey to the moon in 1973. Through interviews purportedly conducted in 1998, marking the mission's 25th anniversary, the film delves into the profound mystery and subsequent fallout that threatened to tarnish NASA's legacy. The narrative skillfully weaves together the perspectives of witnesses and participants, peeling back layers of secrecy to reveal the events that led to the mission's tragic end. While the film garnered 3 wins and 1 nomination, and holds a 5.9 rating on IMDb, it raises compelling questions about the cost of exploration and the truths that lie buried in the annals of space history, making it a captivating, albeit somber, watch for enthusiasts of space exploration and conspiracy thrillers alike.
