THE LAND THAT TIME FORGOT

Cinemavixion Review

Director C. Thomas Howell's 2009 adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic novel, "The Land That Time Forgot," plunges audiences into a thrilling prehistoric adventure. The film chronicles the harrowing journey of castaways who find themselves marooned on the mysterious island of Caprona, a hidden pocket of the Bermuda Triangle teeming with fearsome dinosaurs. As they navigate this perilous landscape, they encounter not only the island's ancient inhabitants but also a stranded German U-Boat crew, adding a layer of human conflict to their struggle for survival. While the film may not have garnered significant critical acclaim, its commitment to delivering a creature-feature spectacle and a sense of high-stakes escape makes it a noteworthy entry in the adventure genre. The narrative effectively blends elements of survival, action, and science fiction, offering a compelling, albeit sometimes rudimentary, cinematic experience for fans of lost world tales.
