THE KNIGHT BANDIT

Cinemavixion Review

Jonathan Kaplan's 'The Knight Bandit' presents a compelling narrative centered on a priest, portrayed by Ralph Waite, who finds himself ensnared in accusations of armed robbery. The film masterfully navigates the ambiguity of eyewitness testimonies, weaving a tale where perception and reality blur. Kaplan's direction probes the nature of faith and fallibility, questioning how easily a figure of moral authority can be perceived as a perpetrator. Waite delivers a nuanced performance, embodying the internal conflict and external pressures faced by his character. This 1981 drama offers a thought-provoking exploration of justice and the unreliability of appearances, making it a significant piece for viewers interested in character-driven thrillers.
