THE KILLING TREE

Cinemavixion Review

In 'The Killing Tree,' director Rhys Frake-Waterfield crafts a festive yet frightful B-movie experience that leans heavily into its unique premise. The narrative, set on Christmas Eve, follows a widow's ill-fated attempt to resurrect her husband, only to unleash a vengeful, killer Christmas tree upon the world. Sarah Alexandra Marks, Marcus Massey, and Judy Tcherniak anchor the film with performances that navigate the line between genuine terror and campy delight. While the Internet Movie Database and Rotten Tomatoes reflect a divisive reception with scores of 3.3/10 and 17% respectively, the film's audacious concept and commitment to its horror-comedy blend offer a distinctive viewing experience. It's a peculiar holiday offering that dares to be different, proving that even a festive icon can become a chilling antagonist.
